Security - Part Time

Job Description

Rosecroft is seeking a seasonal part time Security / Customer Service Attendant to become an integral part of our team. The selected individual will patrol and secure assigned premises while providing superior service to our guests.


  • Resolve customer service issues

  • Assist customers with ticket/machine problems

  • Monitor premises to prevent theft, violence, and for infractions of company policies

  • Patrols, periodically, all buildings and grounds of Rosecroft and may be called upon to regulate vehicle and pedestrian traffic

  • Maintain highly visible patrols to insure a safe gaming experience

  • Thoroughly examine doors, windows, and gates to ensure proper function and security

  • Responsible for protecting property and assets

  • Prepares a check list of all routine patrols by recording any property damage, unusual occurrences, malfunctioning of machinery or equipment, and facility issues such as fire hazards and leaking water pipes

  • Maintain public order and enforcing safety rules

  • Warn violators of premise rules and regulations

  • Request emergency personnel for high risk situations

  • Prepares Incident reports as necessary

  • Assure quality support to other departments so that they may serve guests more effectively

  • Promote the property promotions and events

  • Other duties as assigned


  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or other related fields

  • Previous customer service experience

  • Able to handle stressful situations dealing with the general public

  • Ability to work in an environment, which may be noisy and/or crowded

  • Ability to effectively and efficiently move around all work areas including walking and standing for long periods of time

  • Ability to multi task as required (cover a wide variety of different posts and work with all departments)

  • Effective communication (written and verbal)

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Must have a valid driver's license

  • Must qualify for the Maryland State Racing Commission License

  • Able to handle physical workload

Rosecroft opened its doors as a premier harness racing track in 1949 and has grown into a multi-purpose entertainment facility hosting such events as concerts, fairs, boxing, rugby and other sporting and fitness events.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
